Psoriasis is a chronic disease affecting over 125 million people all over the world and an increasing trend has been observed [1,2]. As a systemic inflammatory process, it predisposes, twice as frequently than in the general population, to the development of metabolic disorders (insulin resistance, atherogenic dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, and cardio-vascular diseases) and, consequently, to life shortening.
