Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) are mesoderm derived stem cells, which mainly exist in the interstitial connective tissue. Bone marrow tissue has the most abundant content of BM-MSCs. Due to characteristic of self-renewal, proliferation and multi-directional differentiation in appropriate micro environment, BMMSCs have the potential to promote the repair of tissue injury.
